This book, *“Efficacy of Xenogeneic Collagen Matrix in Augmenting the Width of Keratinized Gingiva,”* is the culmination of an extensive academic endeavor undertaken during my postgraduate training in Periodontology and Implantology. It presents a comprehensive systematic review of the current evidence regarding the effectiveness of xenogeneic collagen matrices as an alternative to conventional autogenous grafting procedures for soft tissue augmentation.

The maintenance of an adequate width of keratinized gingiva is fundamental to periodontal homeostasis, esthetics, and long-term periodontal stability. While autogenous grafts continue to be regarded as the gold standard for soft tissue augmentation, the associated donor site morbidity and patient discomfort have encouraged the exploration of less invasive alternatives. Xenogeneic collagen matrices have emerged as promising biomaterials capable of providing favorable clinical outcomes while improving patient comfort and reducing surgical complexity.

Through a systematic evaluation of contemporary literature, this work aims to critically analyze the efficacy, clinical applications, advantages, and limitations of xenogeneic collagen matrices in augmenting the width of keratinized gingiva. It is intended to serve as a concise yet informative resource for postgraduate students, clinicians, academicians, and researchers seeking evidence-based insights into modern periodontal plastic surgical procedures.
